I wanted to see how this classic apple fragrance performs as a candle and whether it still feels like a good everyday choice.

Scent & Fragrance

The first thing I notice about Macintosh is the fresh apple scent.

It has a crisp, juicy quality that reminds me of biting into a fresh apple rather than smelling an artificial apple fragrance. There is a slight green freshness that keeps the scent from becoming too sweet.

As it develops, the fragrance becomes a little warmer and more rounded. There is enough depth to keep it interesting without taking away from the apple character.

I prefer giving the candle enough time to develop an even melt pool instead of repeatedly burning it for very short periods.

As with other jar candles, keeping the wick trimmed between burns is important for maintaining a steady flame.

Macintosh is also a fragrance I can see myself using regularly rather than reserving for a particular occasion.

I’d describe Macintosh as having a medium fragrance strength.

The traditional Yankee Candle jar has a familiar and practical design.

I like being able to see the remaining wax through the glass, while the lid helps keep the candle covered when it isn’t being used.

The packaging has a classic rather than luxury appearance. It isn’t designed to be a statement piece, but it works well for an everyday candle.

The Macintosh label also fits the fragrance nicely because the overall presentation suggests the fresh apple character inside.

Yankee Candle Macintosh is a classic for a reason. Its crisp and juicy apple character makes it easy to recognize and easy to enjoy.

What I like most is that it doesn’t turn the apple into a sugary dessert fragrance. Instead, it keeps the focus on fresh fruit, with a slightly green character that makes the scent feel brighter.

For me, Macintosh is particularly appealing during the fall, but it isn’t restricted to autumn. It’s simple enough for everyday use and versatile enough to work in several rooms.
