Voluspa Baltic Amber has a warm and woody fragrance with a noticeable amber character. My first impression was that it feels more cozy and warm than fresh or floral, with a sweetness that comes through without making the scent feel like a typical vanilla candle.

The Classic Baltic Amber candle contains 9 oz (255 g) of wax and has a stated burn time of approximately 60 hours. It uses a single natural wick and Voluspa’s coconut wax blend.
During my use, I paid attention to how evenly the wax melted and how the wick behaved rather than judging the candle only by its fragrance.
Voluspa recommends trimming the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn and allowing the wax to reach the edge of the vessel during each burn to help prevent tunneling.
I would not claim that the candle produces no soot or never tunnels unless that is something I personally observed throughout testing.
Throw / Fragrance Strength
Cold Throw: Before lighting, I can pick up the warm amber and woody character. The vanilla adds some sweetness, but the fragrance doesn’t come across as simply vanilla.
Hot Throw: Once burning, the fragrance becomes more noticeable and the warmer character comes through more clearly. For me, the combination of amber and woods gives the room a comfortable scent without relying on a strongly floral or fruity profile.

Design & Packaging
The Classic Baltic Amber comes in an embossed glass jar with a decorative gift box. The vessel has a more decorative appearance than the very minimalist candle designs from brands such as Le Labo or BYREDO.
I like the glass jar because it works as part of the room’s décor even when the candle isn’t burning. The lid also helps keep the candle protected between uses.
Another practical point is that Voluspa encourages reusing the vessel after the candle has finished burning, so it doesn’t necessarily have to become waste once the wax is gone.
